Plays

All plays can be performed for Sunday morning worship services and other events. When we perform we provide a literature table with information related to the major themes in the play and appropriate denominational resources. We remain after the performance for a discussion with the congregation, and encourage other performing groups to do so the same.

We are members of the United Church of Christ, and write with our denomination in mind. All works can be adapted for other denominations. Please credit the Just Peace Players with the original work. All material is under copyright and can be photocopied for one time use.

Sticks and Stones

This play is a call to stand up and end bullying of all varieties. A strong message to children and adults, this play invites all who listen to consider their own part; whether bystander or upstander!

I Love to Tell the Stories

We will perform this play until there is no longer a need to tell the stories. This play is a dramatic presentation of the true stories of gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender people and our allies. We explore God’s call to love our neighbors and to make our churches inclusive Open and Affirming communities, places of welcome and safety for everyone.

God is Still Speaking: Come, Listen!

Hear God speaking in new ways as we tell deeply moving stories of people of faith from around the world. Through song, poetry, drama, and prayer we invite the congregation to reclaim what it means to be a Christian and how we can reach out to our neighbors in a spirit of faith, hope and love.

A Small World

Gain a new perspective on our world as we view it through the eyes of someone who has never been here before. Through song, poetry, rap, drama, and prayer we invite the congregation to begin to discern how our decisions impact our neighbors and how we can live justly in our divided world.

The Jubilee Review

This is a dramatic and humorous review of biblical concepts of jubilee and economic justice. Through song, poetry, drama and prayer we invite the audience to use the lenses of faith to imagine a world of peace and justice for all of God?s people.

Called to Be Peacemakers

The focus is on our biblical call to be peacemakers. Through song, poetry, drama and prayer we invite the congregation to listen to God’s call and discern how each of us can live out this call in our daily lives.
